In the Event of Fire

• Shout fire
• If safe to fight the fire
• use the fire-fighting equipment from the nearest fire safety point
• beat out a small grass fire with the beaters
• dowse the flames with sand and/or water
  using a fire bucket, fire extinguisher or tap
• smother the flames with a fire blanket
• If a tent is on fire
• evacuate the tent immediately
• do not try to save belongings
• If the fire cannot be brought under control
• call 999 for the fire service
• ring the alarm bell
• all assemble at the fire assembly point
• do not return to the campsite until instructed to do so by a camp officer
• If someone has suffered burns
• administer first aid
• if the burns are serious, call 999 for an ambulance
